Call Of Patriots Poem by Paul Sebastian

Call Of Patriots

Simply, non-prying questions
Similarly, on the lips of many
Rightly, begging the question
Even as a nation suffers in infamy

Unknown, riddled end of one’s death
Unknown, riddled trial of men
Unknown, passing of convicted deaths
Unknown, duty-bound stand condemned

Where could the wealth be gone?
Why have auditors gone insolent?
Why a nation’s staked for one’s wrong?
Why blinkered leaders are so silent?

People clamour for quick answers
People obliterate truth, spin lies
People dump values, protect favours
People realign, hoping someone vies

Where are statesmen, true patriots?
Where are preservers of Independence?
Where are national heroes, compatriots?
Will we see nationalism’s resurgence?

True patriots answer call to defend the nation
True patriots selflessly stand on noble values
True patriots unite citizens to work in unison
True patriots raise nation’s colours: It’s due!
