Can He Be Redeemed Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Can He Be Redeemed

Mama, I wish you were here
To see what has become of your boy
They say he is rapist
They say he is toxic
They say he is a male chauvinist
They say he is a bigot for chosing faith
He denies all this for lack evidence
Well, potential guilt they ascribe to him
They say for he is born male
Drugs, alcohol and joblessness
Homelessness and prison to endure
Mama, I wish you were alive
Maybe you would provide answers
The politcs of the day
Has conspired against your son!
