Careless Whisperer Poem by anais vionet

Careless Whisperer

Rating: 4.7

Dear careless whisperer,
Some sharings are dagger-edged
and there is no escape when they're turned on you
no countermagic for the soul crushing embarrassment
dropped as if from a great height.
Did you hear the gun-shot thunderclap of confidence
leaving the room?

Careless whispers can be deadly. I really like this poem. I have five poems, but they are not activated yet. Why does it take so long for a new poet? Some of them were posted three days ago! Did that happen to you when you started?

No, or I just don't remember it happening. Maybe it was SO traumatic I've blocked it… dang, this sounds like something that could take YEARS of therapy.

anais, your reply to Ron may have upset his nervous system. He ain't young, ya know? I found your comment very funny, ...though I did not laugh.

Loved this poem. The world is so treacherous, life so unpredictable. One may stop to think whether Sun would rise tomorrow!

The ugly fallout of gossip and backbiting is aptly captured in the poem. An insightful work of art. Thanks for sharing and do remain enriched.
