(((Casablanca))) Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

(((Casablanca)))

Rating: 5.0

Hiding in the shadows-
Are The Casino's
Painting a Neon Desert Sight
...In search of that
...Proverbial 'Pot O' Gold'
Come the rainbow seekers
Towards glittered lights.
It's a Gamblers Paradise,
...Money Throwers-
A Utopia for Risk takers -
With its cha-chinging -
...Background Ambience -
And the Corporate Money Makers! !
Casting a lure, into the bright lights -
...Where green paper
...Burns its holes
In the pockets of the slot addicted
The inner core of the Gamblers Soul!
Black Jack and Roulette -
...Craps, a roll of the dice -
...Place your bet on numbers
It's just a mild sort of vice...? ?
For, it is a fact of life -
That the House most always wins -
...Leaving some of the loosers -
...Bankrupt and in despair -
And The Casino Owners, With Big Grins!
