I worry about the darndest things
I stew and frown and fret
I want the best things possible
For my family that I can get
I want the house clean and nice
Not a dirty nasty ‘ole pig sty
Things in place and groceries bought
And I never question why
Birthdays on the calendar
Create a shopping list
Holidays are special too
Presents given with a kiss
Cooking special recipes
Like fudge and cookies too
Gotta get everything finished
Before the holiday is due
When family has a problem
It’s my problem don’t you know
I want them happy always
Because I love them so
I don’t question who I am
Though I worry till I’m numb
I know these things are important
It’s all ‘cause I’m a woman!

You just successfully described a woman. I should know it because I am one. Very good discourse.
Nice Cause to be a Woman who is Human and must be respected to be herself, with her own little needs to share and give, to receive RESPECT :) Thanks for sharing!

Oh yes yes yes. This hits what being a family woman is all about. Even tho men can care, and they can do basically everything you said except; they cannot take the family problems on their shoulders without a few choice words, and yelling; they may give presents, but not with a kiss; they can even multitask, as long as it is one thing at a time. But when our families are in need, we are there with a supporting shoulder, and a soothing word or two, or three or four or as many as it takes to calm the person down. When our children are ill we sleep with 1½ eyes and both ears open. We bolt at the first uhnnnnn just to make sure everything is fine, and if it isn't, we do what we have to forgetting that we should be in bed resting. Nothing is more important to us than the welfare of our families. We become Dr. Mom, the nurse, the cook, the grocer, the clothier, the shoe lady, the maid, the wife and the lover. All of these roles played under one hat. Woman. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem of womanhood for all women to enjoy and relate to. A 10+++++ Love & hugs, Barbara
