Status in life changes day by day
Promotion, it seems may come your way
Grandchildren, visit always a pleasure
Older versions, still a treasure.
Interaction, sometimes a challenge,
English language, need a translator.
Your name, uttered by a Teenager,
The sound of your name sounds so strange,
Name through life, used when in strife,
feeling such joy, thinking how nice.
your Poet's Notes helped me to take better hold of the last two lines. thanks. i like people to call me by my first name, actually Brian, but has been used (in the distant past once or twice i think; adoringly of course) . so you've been promoted to Grandfather, it seems. and Great grandfather yet? population explosion! ! ! ! ha ha. bri ;) p.s. i still like my one and only child to call me Dad, and she does...the rare times i hear from her. ha ha...again.
Thank you Bri, thank goodness for author notes. This new tribe that gather around us oldies are an amazing bunch, I am always looking up when spoken to, the land of the giants?
