Change To Make Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Change To Make

Change to make,
Does not await...
For anyone's approval.
Or acceptance to be made.
As witnessed to be observed,
By the renovations...
Mother Nature currently undertakes.

Those in number,
Arguing through numerous debates.
Are themselves caught up,
With attempts to put...
A fresh coating of paint,
To update age old recycled remedies.
Hoping to introduce,
Steps into a future.
A future moving in a fast pace,
That every second to hesitate.
Is time spent already outdated.

Change to make takes staying aware.
And remaining consciously connected,
With a being proactive and prepared.
Something many on a daily basis,
Look to the past.
To perceive this task,
For them is productive.
Only to find themselves distracted.
In discussions of division,
Racism and a kept rehashing of pettiness.
Seeking results,
To eventually put to an end...
A progress made to move forward.
Yet that change to make,
Will still leave them facing...
Their own ignorance to keep repeated,
Over and over again.
