Charity Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Charity

Like good time the worst time will also pass,
Pay thanks to God you are not eating grass,
Still you are getting bread to swallow and eat,
Still the fields grow golden crops of wheat,
Swallow the bread and convert it into sugar,
Still you have saliva and a bottle of vinegar,
To live and to bow down before the dear God,
Strengthen you belief for a sincere yes nod,
Pray for you, your family and the humanity,
Know you don't have enough money for charity,
But spare some money for the living dead men,
May only a coin of five rupees or a note of ten!
If you could save a poor man dying of hunger,
While facing Him will not be faced as a stranger!
