Chasing Feathers Poem by G J Salgado

Chasing Feathers

Don't say it's over because it's never really over now,
I will show that you are everything I'll prove how.

A billion years from now I will start all over again,
Millions of miles away from where we are in the end.

Far away from who we are and where we've been,
How you were my soul mate and my best friend.

All this time just to get back to you,
From the moment when the red moon turns blue.

I write this letter with my own blood to let you know,
Not even after a million years would I let you go.

When the rain comes we can start over,
Just a whisper from the Midnight Muse and I'll be upon your shoulder.

The past will no longer exist,
We will wake with only one kiss.

We will both be forever free,
The light at the end of your tunnel will be me.

One last time to touch your face,
All of the bad in the past will be erased.

I will see you in my dreams,
And all that is left is you and me.
