I stood by the very edge of the cliff
For my heart was impaled with grief
My eyes stared at the wide chasm in disbelief
At the world below that slipped away like an illusive dream.
It was then that I saw a rainbow in the distant sky
And from this disastrous height I could upon a thought pry
Will it not be cowardice to hush-up and say goodbye?
I turned back to embrace the nebulous reality unseen.
A Beautiful poem. All the thoughts of suicide captured very well with positive ending. Fantastic lines.... Will it not be cowardice to hush-up and say goodbye? I turned back to embrace the nebulous reality unseen. Loved reading it. I was just wondering how come I missed this poem. May be it was written two years back could be the reason.

Beautiful poem Rajesh! From the perilous depths, when the eyes were raised to the summit, the moment of dark despair gave way to beaming hope at the glimpse of a rainbow! To jump into a rash action is easy.... but to get out of it, we often will have to pay a heavy price! A timely forethought can give the boon of a life time! I enjoyed this stark turn of life, in the poem!
