Chat Rooms Poem by Jonathan ROBIN

Chat Rooms

Rating: 5.0

CHAT ROOMS
Chat rooms thrive on boredom which
seeks requite, unquiet minds
restless search, at level ditch,
diction trite. Who message finds
expressive, apt, responsive, rich,
receptive, which their dreams combines?

Communication few can stitch,
invent new mind-sets, senseless blinds
look behind, ease inner itch,
where the thread as it unwinds
weaves beyond banal and kitsch
with taste and tact, not tacky lines.

Amoral, some play practiced pitch,
others favour double binds.
Limited, most prose reminds
us life is mirage, life’s a bitch

You're probably right in some ways, Jonathan, and what you describe is very true for some people. But not all. I went into chat rooms to find out what they were about and for the most part found they were full of lonely and/or bored people. However, I did meet a few interesting and like-minded people who later became my friends, one of whom introduced me to Poemhunter......... Love, Fran xx
