Cherished Moments Poem by David Wood

Cherished Moments

Rating: 5.0

I see her every day, but for a long time
There was silence, a huge gulf, a chasm
That you could pass a planet through.

We passed like ships on a dark moonless
Night. Dark oppressive clouds built up
Between us.

Then, silently, we briefly made eye contact
In passing. She smiles. She doesn't know
The beauty of her smile lights up her face.

Tis her eyes. I am captivated by the beauty
Of her eyes, but in a flash we pass each
Other and I sigh.

For in her eyes I see the iridescence of infinite
Space. I gaze, and in that flood of soft deep
Brown my spirit wanders free.
