Childhood Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Childhood

Rating: 4.8

Serene harmony fulfils her heart,
On Motherland as she arrives;
Her soul in peace is lying, calm:
The youthful joy's regained: she smiles.

If I were to ask of time that passed:
Many years, —a wanderer on foreign land!
The little girl was always here, and asked,
Remembers games she played in sand.

Changes…still, nothing really changed,
In generations, continuity I see:
Perpetual transition, childhood in change;
Young hearts, with innocence in eyes they see.

And if I were to count my painful tears,
The screams for love, and proof of worth;
My helpless nature full of fears:
All vanished now…I am at peace.
