Children Poem by Ehsan Ehsan

Children

Children
Children are the flowers of Nature
They are pure, fragrant and fresh
They are full of wisdom and light
That is why Wordsworth said that the child
Is the father of man, sacred and serene
He is the great observer of Nature and man
He is neither Hippocratic, nor Artificial
We have to think why and how
He becomes the cunning and treacherous
Why he begins to gamble his honesty on greed
Why he begins to ensnare his fellows
Why he exploits others and yokes them
Why we have not set such institutions
To keep his purity, simplicity and honesty
In tact and shaped him in his original nature
Why have we failed to preserve his basic mode
And why have we changed him into a machine
Working for twenty four hours actively
Only for his personal, material and mean gains!
