Children My Swinging Elephants

Rating: 5.0

Coming slowly you catch my veil and swing,
I dandle you fondle you, for you more I sing.
My life flows towards you blossoms my smile,
Leaving all works I run behind you for a while.

Like elephants you all dance around near me,
Swinging of yours in cradle in wonder I do see.
I feed you rice, milk and bread showing moon,
While you do not eat, cry, I become worry soon.

You do not know many nights I don't sleep well,
While you sleep I watch you my children you tell.
With worries and courage I do handle your fever,
Giving you dosage form, I call God again forever.

Never can you feel a mother's heart how does cry,
Leaving away rain drops cloud as far stays in its sky.
Dry up you when your faces demanding something,
I give all efforts with cheer to fulfil get pain nothing.

Mother oh mother while you call me from far back,
I get heaven near full of palms you do more check.
My necklaces the children are you I decorate heart,
In each beat you live I live you feel all near me smart.

Invisible thread is there tied by God in true affection,
Nobody understands this special childhood emotion.
Nurturing you I remember my child days and mother,
Bowing before ever serve and work for eternal father.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
"Very often you catch my veil coming slowly and you swing. For you more I sing and I dandle and fondle you. By doing so my life blossoms with smile and my life flows spontaneously towards you. For a while leaving all works I run behind you. Near and around me like elephants you all dance. I see in wonder the swinging of yours in cradle. Showing you moon, I feed you rice, milk and bread. While you do not eat and cry at that time I become worry soon. I do not sleep well many nights and this perhaps you do not know. Oh my children I watch you, while you sleep. You always tell me to watch you too. While fever comes to you at that time your fever I handle with worries and courage. I call God again forever giving you suitable dosage form i.e. medicine. How does a mother's heart cry this you can never feel? As far as cloud stays in sky after leaving rain drops I stay like same situation. When you dry up your faces demanding something with cheer I give all efforts to fulfil and I do get pain nothing. While you call me from back, mother oh mother, full of palms near me I get heaven. More you do check this. You children are my necklaces and I decorate my heart with you only. In my each beat you live and I live for you. Near me all of you feel smart. In true affection there is invisible thread tied by God. This special childhood emotion nobody understands. Nurturing you I too remember my childhood days and also to my mother. I ever serve and work for eternal father, beloved God bowing before him." This poem is based on such theme where a mother describes her personal view about childhood of her own children and how does she nurture them. This is written in Odisha, India and dedicated to the people of the world.
