Chimera Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Chimera

Rating: 5.0

So many sighs for things
That were not meant to be!
The path was arid, thorny,
Shades were hard to find.

What is the use of asking ‘why'?
Answers will not sooth the pain
That comes with remembrance;
And the scars remain.

The journey was hard,
From the very beginning;
The dawn was dark,
The day not very promising!

Dreams came lovely and wild,
Dreams that lightened the steps;
At the end of the path,
A carpet of flowers and rosy sunset!
