Choice Of Associates Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Choice Of Associates

I wouldn't say you did anything 'wrong',
By judging me on appearance, where I live...
And the fact I do not own a car.
Or that I have a limited income.
Where I'm from the good deeds of others,
Are encouraged and welcomed.

That was the best thing to me you could have done.
Since by your doing that...
It has given me a reason to be more selective,
In my choice of associates and where their minds...
Are focused.
Trust me...what you did was expected.
