Christmas Wish Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Christmas Wish

Hello my dear Jesus.
Will you listen to my Christmas wish?
I don't know Mr. Santa Claus, so I'm asking you for this.
Please give my little sister a pretty princess doll.
Tommy would like a bike to ride, and you can show him how.
Mommy really needs your love so she won't seem so sad.
Because of all the things we lack; It makes her feel bad.
My daddy does his very best to work for all of us.
He could use an older car because he rides the bus.
Please give Grandma a new friend so she won't feel alone.
She misses Grandpa all so much since you called him home.
For me, dear Lord, my only wish is for what I just prayed.
That you bless my family, and make them happy;
On this coming Christmas day.

Now with many years gone by and children of my own.
I tell them about the Christmas past from not so long ago.
The struggles that kept our family close together;
All them trying years.
They gave us so much heartfelt joy our eyes would swell with tears.
My children know until this day I have never forgotten my prayer.
God answered it that Christmas morning with toys for us to share.
My mother, she was happy.
Daddy bought a car.
Grandma found a little friend playing in our yard.
Now that they are older I will tell my children this.
Christmas magic comes from Heaven; When you ask a wish.
