Paper decorations.
Christmas reminders of the past.
Things then,
were plain and simple,
but graced us with memories to last.
Home cooked christmas pudding,
filled with sixpences galore.
Beautiful homemade trifle,
Always wanting that little bit more.
Mama in the kitchen,
cooking christmas roast so good.
Sitting by the fireside,
the smell of burning wood.
Amongst the flames the shadows danced,
On that glorious Christmas Day.
Those were the memories i long for,
They never drift away.
Christmas is not just for giving.
It's a time with the ones that you love.
To never forget those faces,
Of our dear ones,
whom now rest above.
