City Of The Oppressed Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

City Of The Oppressed

Rating: 5.0

There in the city of the oppressed a lot meet the eyes
Tyranny on the increase as many are banned to progress
More prison yards built in exchange of schools
All right thinking heads have been declared wanted
They have went hard on innocent individuals
And left the real enemies of the state
Many bundled in police van
Men and women of our town
All in sad colored garments
Some appear in nude
Others harassed and persecuted
While the law breakers are kept in good company
And granted presidential pardon
Indeed the rudeness of our country hails from mother nature
Here a lot goes on and on
Cases acquitted suddenly revoked and adjourned
Not in accordance to the law
Pronouncements made in favor of the affluents
Judgement awarded to the ones with large portion of wealth
The accused left to rot in jail
Is it that we don't have fair authority?
Some accusations are merely to be assumed by the civil authority
Building up a thought on how to jail the one who was not found guilty of a crime
What do we talk of?
Is it the justice denied?
Or stringent bail conditions?
With the same statute book many are kept without guilt
In detention settlement is made to appease the jailer or legal tribunal over a case one knows nothing about
It often became clear;
Only the ones marked guilty of a certain offence
suffer pronouncement of the bias court ruling with no limitation of age and jail terms
After kept where one will easily forget ones youthful era
An order will be placed;
To bar people from seeing front
Years grown and age passed yet the real evidence is not found
Or revealed to the crowd
Justice is no longer ascertained in a civilized society
For how long will the truth be covered?
Making subsequent offers for a victim not to be announced.
