Close Your Eyes And Repeat After Me Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Close Your Eyes And Repeat After Me

With a giving to me,
Of your fixed and focused eye contact...
Do you remember when you saw in my eyes,
Sincerity, warmth and empathy?
And I listened with intent to comprehend?
I remember it and so should you.

Now...
Close your eyes and repeat after me,
'Such a fool was I to have screwed that up.
I went out of my way to prove myself a complete moron.
No heels can I click three times,
Will I ever get that kind of patience back...
From someone I took totally for granted.'

Do that until you sense my absence.

~When should I start?
Should I leave my eyes closed?
Are you still there? ~
