Cold Night Poem by Matthew Holloway

Cold Night

Cold night
~
Silence creeps in
With a cold hand
Shakes up the room
Leaving thoughts lonely
Whispers in the dark
Just an imagination
To quick to sleep
Writing words on paper
Lyrics of a poem singing
Tired eyes look down
Unable to sleep
The unconscious
Talking to the conscious
A conversation mimicking
The default reality
There is no escaping
Silence crept in
With the coldest hand
Tonight
