Comes When The Spring.... Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Comes When The Spring....

There seems at least one area
Where man retains an advantage
Over Miranda or Maria:
To take age just as is— on stage!

Women unwillingly oft wake
With an unknown vague terror,
A heavy-hearted a step to take
O to much-maligned bath mirror.

Men, a bit of a crook, and self-made cook,
Walk to face an unshaven who-cares face—
What if forty and now a day more look,
And keep intact all grace-grimace!

O grumpy whiny silly girl
Find it no hard to face mirror,
Know the fine art, thy years to whirl,
O adore mirror to mute its terror.

Know this: if anything at all,
Time teaches timelessness to us,
What's but a year to pretty doll?
Let every year look covetous.

And when arrives majestic spring,
Do we ask how old is the king?
