Common Sense To Value Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Common Sense To Value

If aging today,
With each stage of it...
Obtaining lessons to learn.
And gaining a variety of experiences.
To leave anyone believing,
Wisdom to have earned is a disadvantage.
The ones who are left at a disadvantage,
Are those who 'assume'...
One who ages to live life,
Lives immune from knowledge.
And an abundance of it.
Have no idea,
Or concept of what life to live is.
And they remain among the ones,
Creating one conflict after another.
Proving intelligence to claim,
Without common sense to value the worth of it.
Are the ones who will continue to seek,
Acceptance for their impressions made.
With no depth to comprehend,
What it is they intend to imitate.
And why this is more prioritized.
Than using their own minds,
To identify a thinking process.

"You have a mind.
Try using it from time to time."

-For...
What reason?
And...
What would be the purpose? -

"You and I both,
Are in serious trouble."

-How do you know?
Where is it?
I don't see a thing.-
