Compassion Poem by Obinna Kenechukwu Eruchie

Compassion

Rating: 5.0

So ripe is heaven, ever reaped
by sowing no hell on others;
with the desire to unleash help
across to lives close and far off.
Vision to have more joys take height
magnifies hope in humane heart,
who having perceived virtue donned
in the light and embracing it
to employ goodwill made of fire,
to raise the hearts dwelling in fright
or misery and set them loose—
unrestricted from its stern grasp.
Light is mirrored in the eyes, when
the soul’s not clouded in the dark;
the soul upstanding when able
to pass the hurdles of the world;
when inspired by the need noble
to render end to the suff’ring
of souls confined in helplessness;
compassion runs into action when
the truth’s path is walked, the spirit’s
flame possessed gilds the heart perfect—
bidding the light up like the flight
of the waking sun to the sky.
