Connection Poem by Paula Glynn

Connection

I feel connected, I feel alive,
That I can do anything if I only try,
I don't need to make excuses,
I don't need to run away,
I just need for something to say,
As I go running,
The path hitting my feet,
As I travel at a fast speed,
My breathing feeling the need,
For oxygen and a cool shower,
After my exercise session,
For I am highly stressed,
And I need to stomp it out,
For I want to scream and shout,
As I dial you on my mobile,
Hoping I won't have to leave a voicemail message,
Because getting hold of you,
Is harder than leaving a message in a bottle,
Where I drink the contents,
And end up blind drunk,
For missing you and wanting you back.
Because without you happiness is something I lack,
So please let your phone make the connection,
Just as I want you to connect with my heart,
So together we can make a brand new start.
