Conqueror Worm - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Conqueror Worm - Lincoln Park Zoo

Meerkats at the Lincoln Park Zoo,
Our favorite color is green,
Cuz oft green comes with food, green do,
As shirt colors on keepers seen.
Mealworms - our favorite snack,
And keepers keep them by the bunch,
To toss amongst our fur pack,
The best way to say, 'Let's do lunch.'
We watch the worms tossed through the air,
And come to wiggle on the ground,
But do not stay very long there,
Cuz what goes upped quite soon comes downed.

The early bird catches the worm?
Not if a meerkat sees it squirm.
