Contemplative Attitude - Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Walking around the desert at night, totally peaceful and
quiet, nothing to disturb this contemplative attitude.

Such a serene and beautiful landscape everywhere I look,
tantalizing every emotion and feeling filling my being.

Concentrating and reverberating in an interior spiritual
realm, not wanting to leave the still intense peace within.

Stars shining down, twinkling brightly afar, touching my
mind with their effervescent and brilliant intensity.

To respect nature and, to thank creation. Nice work. (Report) Reply

Every image in this poem mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc

Every image in this poem expresses peace and contentment and the desert itself is no wasteland but a stand-in for the Garden. It's not the nature of the place - any place can be a paradise! - it's our attitude that determines the reality. But in a way, it's your inner readiness that makes this desert a sacred place. We might even go further along these lines of reasoning and say your contemplation is the condition of paradise available to us in the here and now. We don't have to go anywhere physically; we have to go inward spiritually. This is a blessed poem! '''
