(((Counterfit Dreams))) Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

(((Counterfit Dreams)))

Rating: 4.9

Turmoil blankets the night...
Just sediments of yesterdays dawn--
From noontimes savage scramble...
To midnights hour-long gone;
Webbed in corners of deceit...
Tangible silk-like threads of regret...
Oh, what a tangled web we oft' times weave...
Cast in memories we cannot forget;
Hauntingly the anger it echos still...
Tossed in a tempest of: Never Again--!
Splitting its seams-the truth pushes through--
Addressing the game that we can never win;
Impoverished and starved for true affection...
With no comfort coming from a strangers arms...
Facing the reality of past situations of sheer pain...
Reflecting upon-the pretense of your charms;
Walking away never to look back...
Bridges are burned and never returned...
Closing the gate upon misbegotten fate--
For you there is no need for any concern;
