Crashing Waves Poem by Stan Rodriguez

Crashing Waves

Minutes in the spreading
of life's emotional surrender—

Has changed the meaning
of everything I knew.

The beating of my heart
no longer rushes
nor the craving of my lips to feed.

Creation!
is such a monger monster
that entrapped me in a collision
with your tides
altering the movement of my rhythm.

Where once I slept so peacefully
now only the crashing of the waves
survives.
