Craving To Be Idolized Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Craving To Be Idolized

It has been long overdue,
For minds to be used.
Instead of eyes to cry tears.
And knees to quickly bend.
As if this to do,
Will gain sympathy from demons.
The creators of misdeeds and evil.

Faith to keep it,
Is more spiritually based.
And much deeper than the pace to take,
Holding onto images and symbols...
Of commercialized religion.
To fake a connection with The Almighty.
Or pretensions made to imitate faith.

A mind to use with a doing to think,
Only God has done this.
To supply the answers to questions asked.
When people declare,
Their prayers have been answered.
With wishes, needs and wants delivered,
Demons can not do this done with tricks.
Or manipulating games to play.

What is going to end,
Are the ways of the devil.
And disciples of deception.
This is the fight they ignite to wage.
Yet...
This battle will only be won to win,
When they begin to defeat themselves.
Since truth to know it may suffer pain.
But survives through anguish.

The minds of demons seek attention to get.
Collectively?
Their minds can not endure,
Anguish, suffering and pain.
This they are more accustomed...
To inflicting it upon others they regard,
As weak and easily victimized.

However...
Mentally?
They are not equipped to even endure criticism.
And that is the enemy within them.
Craving to find a better way to be idolized!
