Creation Is The Self-Revelation... Poem by Daniel Brick

Creation Is The Self-Revelation...

Rating: 5.0

Threads lie disgarded everywhere.
A patient god could briefly visit some spot,
gather up an armful of threads, and
assemble with them the things we desire:
a chateau amid low forested hills, an oasis
with a caravan serai, river valleys, lakes
of the purest water, paths and dead ends
... or just turn the spot into a garden
and leave it for us to nurture. We will be
ardent gardeners of nature. Our labor
will release the spiritual power of
purely natural things. What is nature but
the ceaseless decay and absorption
of earthly things? Creation is not
a difficult concept to grasp: its code
is embedded in our lives: it begins
with the readiness of things TO BE;
it climaxes with God's self-revelation.
And the simple truth is each of us is
part of this process forever. Look,
a flock of blue and green birds sing their delight!

Supernatural! A great poem. I do share the brilliant comment of esteemed poet Glen.

I like your assertion, Daniel, of the code embedded. —I’ve wondered about it terms of the arc of our lives and see it in what we call instinct. In the first creation account we read that creatures are not only called to be but to multiply and thrive. So may it be for us even in these our latter years. -Glen
