Crescent Moon Over Wellspan Philhaven Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Crescent Moon Over Wellspan Philhaven

It was six o'clock in the morning,
I arrived at Wellspan Philhaven hospital parking.
This hospital sat on the slope of Mount Gretna.
Outside lights made the building visible from afar.

The winter sky was clear with no hanging clouds.
I could see a bright crescent moon and its adjacent stars.
The ground was covered with fresh white snow
Which came from winter storm Jayden, one day ago.

A maintenance man slowly drove a snow removing vehicle.
He blew snow off the parking lot to its adjacent lawn.
I walked my duck walk to secure my walk before dawn.
Very cold night temperature froze melted snow on sidewalk.

I was glad that I safely arrived
And my car did not skid on black ice.
I was glad to see the bright crescent moon shine
On this very cold quiet winter night.

The air was calm but only six degrees Fahrenheit.
I scheduled to see first patient long before sunrise.
The Groundhog Day will arrive after two more days.
I can't wait to hear what Groundhog Phil will say.
