An Amazonian rainforest.
Sounds of chainsaws
and the grunts of bulldozers.
Mingled with the shrieks
of fleeing parrots and macaws,
and orchid-laden trees toppling:
A still, sad plaint:
“Goodbye.”

I would like to translate this poem
a strong powerful poem terribly sad but does what it must do speak for the life of great trees taken and few to shed a tear a wonderful poem
