Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper
Her starsign cancer: having been born June 22nd 1953
A little girl that would grow up to become free
And be all that she ever wanted to be
Brooklyn in New York where she was destined to be born.

Her father, Fred, coming from Swiss-German descent
Her mother, Catrine (née Gallo) her lifeline 1930-2022
Being of Italian descent (from Sicily) although not speaking Italian
Lauper's siblings her younger brother Fred (nicknamed Butch)
Her older sister Ellen always a friend but parents divorcing at five years old
However her mother remarried and divorced again.

Expelled from Richmond Hill High School
But Cyndi never again playing the fool
Going on to leave home to Canada at 17 years old
Her abusive stepfather letting her sleep in the cold
But Cyndi to go to Johnson State College to study art
Cyndi deeply artistic and following her heart.
