I will dance til I die
Spread my arms out and fly
When I dance I feel free
Nobody can take that from me
I will dance until my feet hurt
Jump up an down in the dirt
Fall down an get up again
Nothing is accomplished without pain
I will dance until my sole bleeds
I will follow Him anywhere he leads
God gave me this gift, use it I will
To make people happy, not to rob and kill
I will dance until God calls me home
Til my corpse is full of worm
Then I'll be dancing with God an his angels in the sky
Dance i will, til I die...
atasha, i was reading poems of yours this morning and came upon this one. it makes me wonder if you're familiar with the sufis- a mystical branch of islam for whom dance is central in their worship. among them are two of my favorite poets- rumi (as rendered by coleman barks) and hafiz (as rendered by daniel ladinsky) . also, i thought you'd probably relate to my poem which begins because of what you have done. love fill and surround you! -glen kappy

I will dance until my sole bleeds I will follow Him anywhere he leads God gave me this gift, use it I will To make people happy, not to rob and kill.. dancing as a lasting theme from now onwards till death and in heaven to dance with the angels.... very nice and i was very happy to read it. thank you. tony
