Dancing On The Night Train (Ode To Langston Hughes) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Dancing On The Night Train (Ode To Langston Hughes)

Take the night sky &
Wrap it around you tight,
Take the clouds as well as the last bit of
the moon and make a pattern on your dress.
Stop all of the trains & all of the cars
& lace them around your feet.
& Dance, dance until your hearts
Content.
Bounce those feet around your
Hopes & dreams.
Move those hands and shoulders until
The world stops and stares,
Take notice to how free you feel.
Bounce those feet loud & proud
Bounce those feet until the
Downstairs neighbors call and
Complain & take their brooms
In protest, banging the bottom
Of your floor.
Don't stop until your sweat rains
& pours.
Trains make the most racket
When they derail from their track.
Love is losing control
Love is bouncing around in the ultimate
Protest
