Dare We Dream Poem by louis rams

Dare We Dream

I toss and turn in my bed- so many thoughts
Going through my head such as: there are
So many Covid deaths and no one knows what lies ahead
And vaccines they had found, but not enough to go around.
A virus that was created by man and has spread from land to land.
The world is looking at what AMERICA will do and hoping that
We will help them too'
It does not matter what country or language they speak
They are our brothers in our keep.
We all bleed and die the same- why must we be so vain.
Now there is civil strife in our land and brother against brother
Are taking a stand.
Our capital was overrun by protesters carrying weapons from
Knives and guns.
Let us not make this a political thing and to a conference table
Our love we should bring, where solutions can be found in
A place called common ground.
