Dark Halls Poem by Ishita Yadav

Dark Halls

You hear a voice again and again,
It's not yours it's not mine.
You'll find yourself here sooner or later,
In a place where no one's alive.

So hold my hand as we go in,
No idea what were in for
As I open this door, I know well come back,
Weather alive, I'm not sure.

The door opens with a loud creak,
Acknowledging our presence,
Alerting all those that delve in this place,
All the stories all the legends.

The door slams shut as we enter in,
There's no going back now.
My eyes widen at what I see,
In the dim light the place will allow.

Were in a huge room with an eerie smell,
No vision, it's darker than night.
Only two things glow, two doors ahead,
To choices left or right.

I don't want to part with you my friend,
Looks like I have no choice.
With bated breath, I go in,
Hear unseen voices rejoice.

Immediately I am pushed down,
Into plunging darkness, I fall.
And in this very moment I know,
I'll never see light at all.

I didn't want to leave you here my friend,
My apologies mark these walls.
Come to see me sometime my friend,
I'll be here, roaming these dark halls.
