The First Star Poem by Ishita Yadav

The First Star

Walking on for miles and miles
Giving everyone forced smiles
Wishing it all was real
But I know something good's near.

And when it comes, I'll be right before the light
See me shine even the stars won't be bright.
My light won't be so hard to see
Cause I'll, finally be me.

Won't have to be the one, always pushed into the dark
For once I'll be the brightest star
I'll be the star that stands out in the night sky
I'll be the first star that has wings to fly

And what I got, it all showed
When walking down the same old road
And now with realization awhile
I can finally manage a real smile

A smile that can tell you, all that it means
A smile that can show you all of my of dreams
Dreams dreamt even when I had to pretend
And now after it all, I find in the end-

That if I want to shine, I don't need to ask
It's easy for me, to be the only star.
I'll soar so high, I'll touch the sky,
Yes, I'll be the first star that has wings to fly.

And soaring up so high, I'll have a perfect view,
Yes, we'll see it together, me and you.
I'll realize the meaning of pure bliss
I'll finally see the world for what it really is……

I'll leave my steps, I'll leave my mark,
That leads up to my golden star
A star devoid of doubts and lies
Oh the very first star that has wings to fly.
