Beautiful - Poem by Ishita Yadav

No one else cared, but I did,
cared so much what others said.
Thought my face gave me my character,
couldn't stand the usual mean laughter.

I almost had no thought of my own,
my inner self almost gone.
My 'ugly' face was all I thought about,
my thoughts filled with anxiety and doubt!

But now I've learnt my freckles don't matter,
can make other qualities flatter.
I'm loyal, kind and not at all hurtful,
that's what makes me truly beautiful!

Without my freckles my face will be incomplete,
there so much more in life to meet.
Now I know a pretty face can't oppose,
trust, honesty and life's other pros.

For people who actually care I'm perfect,
and others have lot of time to work it.
Courage, character- all plentiful,
that what makes me truly beautiful!
