Dark Truths 06 Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Dark Truths 06

Rating: 5.0

Those who spoke the truth
Unpalatable to the uncouth
Always died a violent death
Gowri Lankesh, Jamal Khashoggi
And Mary Colvin are not the first
Nor will they be the last.

A powerful and brave write. Yes, death will never silenced anyone who believe in nothing but the truth. Instead, the death of these people will ignite minds to follow their footsteps until such time that truth will prevail. Bless your Poet's pen for this one of a kind brilliant write.

Thank you Rose Marie for the most insightful observations on the poem. Indian Philosophy is based on the maxim, “Satyameva Jayate “, meaning Truth alone wins. I am bound by this maxim. Our “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi named his autobiography “My Experiments with Truth”. That is the importance of truth in our lives. Success of untruth, lies is shortlived. As Leo Tolstoy has said “Gos Sees the Truth, But Waits”....

A bitter truth. You deserve applause for telling it. Well penned. Thought-provoking. Some deaths haunt mankind forever.

Thank you Nosheen. Some deaths...., yes, they do... They can silence Khashoggi, Lankesh and Colvin. But there are more voices. All the powers in the world may come together, bot cannot silence all the voices of dissent... They fear and so they act!
