# Dawn's Awakening (Inspired By A Poem By Jasmin Whyte)

Rating: 3.7

(inspired by the poem 'Overcome' by Jasmin Whyte)

When was the last time I witnessed the dawn
when I was actually there to feel it enter my skin
and pierce me through to my spirit

When was the last time I felt awe
and surrendered and succumbed to it
When was the last time I believed it

Too long, too long I’ve been cloaked in darkness
How I long once more to be in the arms of it
To be awakened by its kiss
and gently aroused from my sleep

There is so much feeling here; it brims over. In fact, in all of your poems there is a great wealth of emotional power. Now I'm off to read Jasmin's poem which inspired all this beauty. I think you two are a team. (smile)

With that first trace of sun on a window glass, one dares to believe that the world has begun all over again. You are in good poetic voice in this one. Lovely write, Sonya. Kind regards, Sandra
