Daddy said I'm a pretty girl,
The cutiest baby without no doubts;
And that he'll never have me round about.
Showering me with gifts,
As little and cute.
Today all he does is use his fist;
Beating me as his little Bitch.
Daddy you said,
I'm ungrateful,
Not seeing anything in me that's faithful.
Now my life is on a pull,
As I search for what I'm now convinced,
His love, to me, he'll never give.
Daddy you'd said I'm your child
But how you treat me as the bad step-child
As though I'm rotten and spoil
Forgetting you in your hunting nights
We all would have toil.
You said I'll never make it
That I've got to stop fake it
If you are not in it
Then I will never make it.
You said I'm like my mother
But I know like her
There is just no other
She was the only one
That could have stand up
Stand up to your knock
Even though many nights her heart
It would have struck.
No other words
Would have impact me
Than to hear you constantly
Defile and belittle me
Daddy if i had a choice
Here I would have not ask to be
The daughter who
You solemnly leaves to weep.
But all I can say
Is that your debts be pay
To live or die
I no longer care
Because being your child
It's causing me so much pain.
A heart-rending story of child abuse told in persuasive expressions with clarity of thought and mind. Very heartfelt with strong emotions. Thanks for sharing. Roshana.
It seems the poem is telling the woes of young little daughters ill treated by their fathers.Well written.
Dear Daddy- -the very title of the poem suggests that you still feel your father as a dear person and his present behavior is unbecoming of his nature. There was a time when you were his pet child and due to some reason he has changed .You have become target of his arrogance. The deep sorrow and sadness is evident in your poem. Life's path is always full of ups and downs. It is never smooth. We have to face it courageously. You have so much talents.Prove yourself so worthy that your Daddy will feel proud to have a daughter like you. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful poem.
