Deception Poem by Shelley L Baxter

Deception

Rating: 5.0

Illustrious heavenly lights
casts their mirror like reflection
upon the depths of the calm blue.
Shining within the glass like darkness
with the intensity of a dim bulb
in a room without a view.
Noticing only what one wishes to see,
not the funnel clouds slowly rearing their heads high above~
or the aggresive creatures lurking directly below.
Instead one sees the beautiful tranquil surroundings
and wonders if he is not blessed to gaze upon such beauty.

Shelly, the first line just lit up my senses. What a beautiful poem with an equally beautiful message. Top marks from me. Thanks for sharing it my friend. David
