Deep Space Exploration Poem by Paula Glynn

Deep Space Exploration

From the mission to Mars
To the mysteries of deep space
Dark matter and dark energy
The complex works
The universe does
Where negative versus positive
The universe a paradox in itself

Opposites making explosions
Making moons and planets
To either be in unstoppable heat
Or freezing cold temperatures
Impossible for man to land on
Only to be able to view
From lenses of cameras
And views from satellites

In deep space spaceships
Send the public to the moon
And to the mission of Mars
And to planets in the solar system
Planets and moons
Circulating like blood in veins
Once deep space seen
The soul to never be the same

NASA space station orbiting earth
Another NASA space station
Orbiting the red planet Mars
That old planet desolate of life
Earth the only planet to harvest life
No matter the trouble and strife
Of maintaining flourishing life

The cost of space travel not vast
Safety paramount
When dressed in
Space issue attire and a mask
For reaching across the universe
To be the goal of NASA
And other space agencies

Pilots to count and measure
Seconds, minutes and hours
The spaceship going
In four dimensions:
Up and down
Left and right
Even female pilots to do the job
Keeping the spaceship in gear
From flying airplanes
To going into deep space
Where they take charge and steer

For the space age is now officially here.
