Deep Waters Poem by LINDITA ARAPI

Deep Waters

Rating: 4.0

Here stands a bridge with high arches
like a watercolor
masterpiece
its colors still fresh.
In the depths beneath
the water calls
gleaming and seductive as a new mirror
in which I see myself clearly.
I see it reach toward me
with the devouring lust of a stranger
I shiver
inhale the dampness of his soul.
O death depths!
I`m coming. I`m coming
in midair
bursting forth
like a shot
I have waited so long for this moment
to sway in a last waltz with the air
wavering
to sink down beneath your wake
and give a new meaning
to my days.
