Delicate Balance Of This Temporary Life Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Delicate Balance Of This Temporary Life

Recalling times of old when we two were inseparable, no
matter the time of day or night, holding hands, hearts
gathered around one another.

Steadfast and loving, our minds melding as one while
dancing and being like when we were just little children,
hanging out together, an anchor for each other in life.

In times of difficulty we were blessed with a sense of
relief in one another's arms, feeling protected, safe
and energetic.

A little world all our own, no one daring to interfere,
just the two of us in a delicate balance of this very
temporary life.

Trying not to think of days ahead that would be holding
loss and grief in handkerchiefs filled with tears of love
and loss.

Wanting to look the other way, but continually being
drawn to the love in your beautiful brown eyes, always
smiling happily to see this poet.
