Dementia - Deaf And Blind Poem by louis rams

Dementia - Deaf And Blind

Dementia - deaf and blind
We met in 64. -I opened up all of life's doors - decisions I made that I regret, I pushed to the back just to forget.
There are very few things in life that I fear, but dementia is very near. I'll accept the loss of eyesight and hearing too, but without a mind what's left to do.
In a world of complete darkness without an escape we have to do something before it's too late. It's like being buried alive in the ground, no escape to be found. Just find the cure for the mind, l'll accept being deaf and blind.
