Descent Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Descent

Rating: 5.0

The sun going down
Soundlessly
No more hunger left
In the orange disc
Now hugging the horizon
Like a reunion with
A long-gone lover
Unafraid of dark
Following its footsteps
Without envy for the moon
That stealthily usurps its glow
To become the monarch
Of the nocturnal silence
The sun has no fire to rise
Above others
Nor any desire to give its passion.
